Division 3 Outstanding Assistant Coach of the Year

Stephen Toomy - Tufts University

Dear IMLCA Members,

On behalf of the association, I want to extend a sincere thank you to every coach who supported our first-ever IMLCA Summer Players Summit. Launching a new event carries risk, and its success depends entirely on the membership standing behind it. You showed up, and the results exceeded every expectation we set.

  • 350+ individual college coaches in attendance
  • 250+ individual schools represented
  • 65+ Division I programs on site
  • 185+ Division II & III programs on site
  • Top 20 Attendance: 19 of 20 programs represented

Those numbers reflect more than attendance. They show a membership willing to invest its most limited resource, summer evaluation time, in an event built by coaches, for coaches. That collective commitment is exactly what this association was founded on, and it is what will sustain this event for years to come.

Building the Gold Standard

The operational planning of this event is designed with our evaluating coaches in mind. The goal will continue to be to deliver on the details.

  • Roster books with accurate, complete rosters for efficient evaluation
  • Games that ran on time, so your schedule stayed your schedule
  • Quality officiating that let the best players show who they are

We know these details are what separate a productive evaluation weekend from a wasted one.

Going forward this standard will not change and hopefully will show other events how to take care of the college coach.

Why This Event Matters to the Association

The Summit is more than a recruiting event. Revenue generated by the event goes directly back into the association, funding the convention, advocacy, and member services that support every coach in this organization. When the IMLCA hosts its own events, the coaching profession grows influence on the recruiting landscape and the association grows stronger.

Growing Our Reach by 1400+ in 7 Days!

The Summit’s impact extended well beyond the field with 1,400+ new followers across our online platforms in the last 7 days.

That surge in visibility amplifies every program, coach, and player connected to the IMLCA. As our digital footprint grows, so does the value of our events and this association to the entire lacrosse community.

We Want Your Feedback!

A quick survey will be distributed from the Events Committee to all attending coaches who checked in on-site. Please take a minute to complete when you receive that email later today.

2026 Winter Summit

Registration for the 2026 Coaches Summit (December 9-11) will be out soon. Registration for the Winter Players Summit (December 12-13) sold out in record time once again, and the field of 100 teams is a strong one. We hope to see everyone in Orlando this December.

Thank you again for making the inaugural Summer Players Summit a success. This event belongs to the membership, and its future is bright because of you.

With appreciation,

Sean Woods
IMLCA | President
